I have a new laptop with windows vista, and it keeps kicking me off line. I
have spoken with others that are having the same problem. I have contacted
AOL and run all the diagnostics and there is no problem with my ssoftware.
Any one know what the problem is and how to fix it?

For once, it probably isn't Vista but AOL. Do people still use AOL?

Alias

Out-dated network/wifi drivers?
Out-dated router/modem firmware?
Bad Weather affecting the line?
Maintenance being done on the line?

Phone?
DSL?
Router?
Cable?
Other?

Are other programs also unable to stay connected?

Probably the Internet tooth fairy is doing this so that yours isn't just
another one of those millions of Windoze boxes owned by a spambot. The
Internet will truly get smart when it's able to keep ALL Windoze boxes off
the Net.

Cheers.

In the same boat, but I uninstalled the Norton anti-virus and
installed AVG and it's fine now.

You didn't answer any of my questions. What type of connection do you have?
I'm trying to help, not discuss varying operating systems.

That doesn't surprise me.

Just in case you decided to try and get the user to switch to Ubuntu. I
thought I would strike first!

Linux is OK in a business environment for servers but for the average home
user. Forgetaboutit!

There are "average home users" and then there are "average home users".
Then there are idiots like Frank who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near
a computer.

Well Frank's mommy did place corks on all his forks to prevent him from
hurting himself. Maybe she'll take away his computer rights also, to
prevent him from hurting others?

Cheers.

PS. Frank, if you're reading this, and I know you certainly will as you're
such a stalker ... please read me sig for further assistance. Brain
injuries, if left untreated will only worsen. Do take your meds.

Next time you're bent over for RS be sure ask (beg?) him to tell you the
truth about linux, and while he fumbling around for an answer (certainly
not the truth) be sure and ask him why the founding family members
refuse to use linux.
Frank
