Hi
I am running Access2000
I have a multi user environment db.
Is there a way to kick someone out of a db? (if they forget to close it
and left)
Regards
Kay

Hi Kay,

Yes, there is a way to do this. Please see the following article:

Implementing a Successful Multiuser Access/JET Application
http://www.access.qbuilt.com/html/multiuser_applications.html

This is covered in the section that is titled "Close inactive sessions".
This is an important technique to help prevent database corruption. I once
helped a person with their multiuser application which was corrupted every
morning when they came to work. It turned out that one employee was leaving
their computer turned on, with the database open. This particular company had
a policy in effect that automatically shut off all computers at 10:00 PM each
night.
