Hit the Backspace key. You can also use the arrow keys to
navigate through the folders.

Good luck

Hi, Nepatsfan
You are wrong. The backspace key takes you to the previous window. If the
previous window was NOT the parent folder, then it CAN NOT take you to the
parent folder. Try it.

You and I must be interpreting the OP's question differently.
My reply was based on navigating within the Folder tree in the
left hand pane of Windows Explorer. For example, navigate to
C:\Program Files. Click on the first three subfolders in
succession. If I hit the Backspace key, I return to C:\Program
Files, one level up, not a subfolder.

"BACKSPACE (View the folder one level up in My Computer or
Windows Explorer)" quoted from the General Keyboard Shortcuts
section of this Microsoft article.

Thank you for pointing out my error. I was confusing the back button with
the backspace key.

No problem.

Nepatsfan

Thanks for the clarification. I should have been more specific and
stated that I was not using the hierarchical folder tree on the left
hand side of my Explorer window. However, the mention of it reminded
me yet again of this feature which I neglect far too much.
Nonetheless, the backspace key is precisely what I was looking for. It
was almost /too/ obvious. :)

Thanks,
