keyboard problem in XP

Hey Everyone,

I have a Dell Latitude D500. Everything used to be working fine with the
keyboard until I had to reinstall XP. When I press the Fn key in combination
with the volume adjuster or battery icon, the images no longer pop up. Usualy
when I pressed Fn with Volume Up, an image would appear showing me that the
volume was going up. How do I get this function back, is it a driver or just
a simple choosing of a property?

Thanks a lot.

You are describing actions that some utility from the Original Equipment
Manufacturer (OEM) was providing. Aparently those utilities are no
longer getting loaded when the operating system is booted. You will need
to reinstall them. You may need to back up the system owner's data files
and use the OEM's restore utility to restablish the application and data
configuration the computer had when it was delivered.
