One last bunch of questions:



How do you key a "windows"-R shortcut to start a run command?

On Swiss French keyboard layout, the usual key immediately on the right of
the shift is missing; how do you type a backslash is this keyboard config?

Hi Henpat,

I'm afraid I can't answer your second question since I have no
experience with Swiss keyboards, but as to your first question: look
for a Windows icon-like key on your keyboard. It resembles four wavy,
distorted squares forming a larger wavy, distorted square. Not all
keyboards have it, but on those that do, it will typically be found
around CTRL, ALT, and similar buttons. To key this shortcut, just press
the Windows key and the Start Menu will come up. Then type R, and it
opens the Run command. This is just a quick way to open up your start
menu and click run with no mouse.

Thanks for your reply.
But, I don't have the Windows key... is an old keyboard. I usually use it
in my desktop computer but in my laptop I don't have this option.

I find a way to call the run dialog box without this key.

On my Belgian/French Laptop Keyboard the backslash key is obtained by
pressing AltGr and the key marked [< > \ ] (located right hand side of
second row from bottom).

How old is your laptop?
Have you tried referring to your manufacturers handbook (or webpage) for
instructions on producing the backslash symbol?
