keyboard issues

my keyboard is behaving strangely. specific keys when pressed in lower case
launch particular windows - for example depressing 'e' launches explorer; 'd'
launches desktop; 'r' launches run; 'l' locks the computer. my pc is a laptop
and i have plugged in a usb keyboard with the same result. i have run virus
scans in normal mode, safe mode and dos scan. each virus scan shows no
infected files.

i am lost at what to do next.

is there a parameter in xp that i may have turned on that is causing this
keyboard behavour?

Your 'Windows key' (between Ctrl and Alt) may be stuck (?).

Ok, probably not if you've tried 2 keyboards.

Check your 'Sticky keys' setting

Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Uncheck 'Use sticky keys'
