Hello,

I am running windows xp sp2 with all the windows updates applied, however
every few minutes my computer and mouse goes in to a sleep mode and the only
way that I can get it to be active again is by rebooting the computer. I
have know sleep mode on of any kind.

Please advise.

Jeremy

After following the steps given, there are know power options list in the
properties. The only options I have list are the General Tab and Driver Tab,
and on the bottom Troubleshoot... and when I click on the troubleshoot I
receive the windows Help and Support Screen. Please advise

Thanks

Does your Mouse/Keyboard connect via a USB socket ?
XP by default sets all USB Root Hubs to enter a power
savings mode after a idle time-out period. You should use
DevMgmt.Msc to uncheck/untic that option so that the Hubs
do not power down.

Open the details box for each USB Root Hub in the Universal
Serial Bus Controllers category. Click the Power Management
(TAB) and modify the box that says "Allow the Computer to
turn off this device to save power" - Click Apply, OK repeat
for all the remaining USB hubs.
