Key Assignment

How do I assign keys from the character map. None of the instructions I
find in the Help File work out for me. Any help you can give me will be
very much appreciated.

I never use Character Map, so I can't help with your question. However
you may be interested in doing what I do, and use a little freeware
background program called AllChars. This lets me. in all applications,
type many common special characters (many of these are used in other
languages) by pressing the ctrl key followed by a two character
mnemonic combination.

For example, for ñ the two characters are ~ and n. For ç it's c and ,
For ü it's u and "

Good link! I am a Character Map junkie. At least, I used to be...;-)

I like AllChars a lot. I don't need to use it often, but I'm very
happy to have it there when I need such characters. And it has
practically no cost in performance, since it just sits idle most of
the time, not using any real memory or CPU cycles.

I've lost track of how often I've used it in the few days I've had it…

Many Thanks to all who responded. I have downloaded and installed AllChars.
It looks promising. Just have to figure out how to add characters to that
application. I am typing text for a booklet of instruction on how to play a
particular card game, so I need the need the club diamond heart & spade
symbol. Looks like should have mentioned this before. Again thanks. I
know I will get other uses out of AllChars from the characters included.

You're welcome.

I don't think you can add characters. It doesn't do everything, but
it's great for what it does do.
