Kernel Stack In_page Error Stop 0x00000077

kernel stack In_page error

stop 0x0000077 (0xC0000056, 0xC0000056, 0X00000000, 0x00F21000)

If i look in the event viewer, there aren't any issues, and there aren't any
minidumps created. the only way i could actually see the bsod is by telling
the system not to auto restart on error.

It happens every time i try to restore a ghost image from my external hdd,
and at the same point in the resteration.

do you believe that this is an issue with the external hdd, or the laptop
(again its brand new <1 day)

I have run memtest (6 passes, no errors)

i have run the wd test tools (the external drive is a fantom drive, but the
hard drive they use is a western digital, and it passes the extended test)

the only event that shows up in the event log it the following:

\Device\ACPIEC: The embedded controller (EC) hardware didn't respond within
the timeout period. This may indicate an error in the EC hardware or
firmware, or possibly a poorly designed BIOS which accesses the EC in an
unsafe manner. The EC driver will retry the failed transaction if possible.

although the timing never lines up with the bsod (there is no error nor
minidump) the event log just shows the events from startup.

I am out of ideas for solutions.

Mainly this deals with memory (virtual more than ram),the most common
reason for this is a driver de-referencing a bad pointer. One way to check
for the faulty driver is to run:VERIFIER From the start menu, for details on
how to run the utility,read:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244617
Either way, unless the fault identifies itself, troubleshooting can be
difficult.......

Dear Customer,

Thank you for posting here.

According to the description, I'd like to share some knowledge with you.

Analysis and Suggestion:
=========================

Since the BSOD issue is related to kernel crash, we need to debug the
crashed system dump file to troubleshoot this kind of kernel crash issue.
Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the newsgroups. A
suggestion would be to contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS)
via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your
request. Please be advised that contacting phone support will be a charged
call.

To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a
look at the web site listed below:

More information:
==================

Since the BSOD issue happens every time you restore a ghost image from the
external hard disk, this issue may be caused by the difference in HCL
between the source computer and the target computer. In this way, we would
like to suggest that you only restore the image to the computer that has
the same hardware configuration with the source computer.

Hope it helps.

Consider to flatten and rebuild.

you will need on-hand

Purchase an external hard drive and imaging software such as Acronis True
Image and image your new install. Store the image on the external hard
drive. This makes restoration of your perfectly working system a matter of
minutes.
