Kerberos Logon Failure/Error

M

Mo

Hi, I need help with errors in the Security section of the event viewer on
our W2k DC.

On a daily basis there are at least 50 of these entries:

Event ID: 537
Source: Security
Category: Logon/Logoff
Type: Failure Audit
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: Servername (this is a windows 2000 domain controller)

Description:
Logon Failure:
Reason: An unexpected error occurred during logon
User Name:
Domain:
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: Kerberos
Authentication Package: Kerberos
Workstation Name: -

What do these mean and how can I get rid of them?

Thanks in advance for any/all replies!

This can be caused by the time on the workstation being out of sync with
the DC, check the time on the workstation that is generating the error.
This can also be caused by a Windows 2000 workstation in a trusted NT
domain. If this is the case, configure the Windows 2000-based computers in
the Windows NT 4.0-based domain to synchronize the time with the Windows
2000-based domain. There may also be an application on the workstation
that is generating an error. See also:318922 Event 537 Is Listed in the
