Hi Ken, use to see your posts over on the Windows group.

Just a few days ago, I went to XP. Working nice and got my resources back.

Have a question for you.

There is a Windows folder still on my C drive. Is it ok to remove it and
are there other files that can be removed?

Do you mean Windows 98? Yes, I remember your name. Good to see
you here!

Glad to hear it!

How did you go to Windows XP? Did you do a clean installation,
upgrade, side-by-side (dual-boot)?

If you do a clean installation of Windows XP, it's normally
installed to \windows, but it might be different in your case if
you did another kind of installation. Go to Start | Run and type
%windir% What folder comes up?

Mornin' Donald! ;o)

Thanks for the prompt response Ken.

Did the %windir% and C:\WINDOWS came up. Looks like I need the Windows
folder.

Because of all the trinkets added, a CD burner, DVD/CD burner, Tape Drive,
ZIP 100 Drive, 1.0 USB on the motherboard & an Adaptec USB 4 port USB 2.0
card, Cruzer thumbdrive, Sony Palm USB cradle, Supra e56 USB modem (FAXing
only), HP 8200 USB scanner, SCSI drives on an ASUS Tusl2-c motherboard all
on a home network, took the coward's way out and had a very good Tech do the
Windows XP Upgrade from Windows 98SE.
Also on DSL.

The upgrade is kind of like going from McDonald's to a restaurant where they
use tablecloths and linen napkins. <G>

Yep, that's where Windows XP is installed.

LOL! I like XP a lot. I've been using it on both machines here
since it was first released, have had essentially no problems at
all, and haven't looked back.

Buona mattina, Sarah. But seeing that the sun went down here, buona sera,
Sarah.

ciao,

donato

P.S. Me and Eddy Rabbit are both happy campers. It's a rainy nite and I got
XP!

Gods I wish I'd kept up with Italian - it's far more sexy than French and
Spanish combined (and German isn't sexy at all!)

Maybe you could teach me via email - you have my address...

Eddy Rabbit...? Enlighten me, do...

Sarah,

You're on the wrong side of the pond. I don't know how popular C & W
(Country & Western) music is over there. Not to be confused with Eric
Idle's Country and West End music...

<Neil Innes singing like Johnny Cash > Well, I'm stuck in Mrs.
Fletcher's... <to the tune of Folsom Prison Blues>

[[Johnny Cash Live at Mrs Fletchers
The great Country and West End singer entertains the inmates at
one of Britain's toughest private suburban prisons : Mrs. Fletcher's.]]
From the album RUTLAND WEEKEND
http://www.bonzodog.org/rutles/rwt.htm

I bought this album a hundred or so years ago.

And now for something completely different...
