Hello....
Having read somewhere that the Folder Task settings do get 'corrupted' and
can be reset by deleting the following 2 keys, I took the risk...rebooted
...and it worked !!!
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags] ...
Thanks
The unregmp2.exe command sequence set WMP as default, so no need to worry
about that. If you want to check, use the Folder Options, FileTypes
dialog.
I can't say for sure but try backing up the key and delete the sub-keys
under ContextMenuHandlers one by one to see which is causing this.

ok Ramesh....but what do I check there ???
I had read somewhere that "Play all" is actually a link to the default
player...how and where do I check that??
Other tasks like....Slideshow for pictures, Copy to CD, Make/Share/Publish
this Folder etc are working.
Thanks...
One of the shell extension (context menu handler) may be causing this.

I did reboot and try again, Ramesh......but no change...
I have Norton...not AVG...
"Play all" doesn't work even when I have only .mp3 files in My Music....or
only .avi files in My Videos...
....and before applying the edit I had checked...the entries were already
there...
Thanks anyway...this is not a major problem for me...
Ratan, Reboot and try again.
If the problem persist:
Do you have AVG installed. The freeware version of AVG seems to cause this
problem.
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=AVG+"play+all"
Remove all the audio files (except .mp3) from My Music folder and try
"Play
All". This is to see if it is caused by the Perceived Types key (I see
that
you've applied the edit on line 327 in Kelly's site.)

Thanks Ramesh...I did run those two commands...and after the first
one....there was a message.. "DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in Shell32
suceeded"...but none after the second one.
I have all types of video files...avi, mpg, asf/wmv etc...and mp3,
wav,wma,
mid etc audio types..and "Play all" doesn't work in either video tasks or
audio tasks.
I have or have had all available Players...you name it...I have it

))
Hi Ratan,
Try these commands from RUN box:
REGSVR32 /i SHELL32
and
C:\Windows\Inf\unregmp2.exe /SetWMPAsDefault
If that does not help, let us know what's filetypes are present in the My
Videos folder? (the video files). And what other players are installed in
the systm?

Thanks a lot Kelly...but no luck.
Even after applying the edit, "All play" still doesn't function, neither
for
audio nor video.
Any other ideas??
As I have a lot of 'players' installed, it could be that the link can't
find
the path to the default player to play, as there appears to be a lot of
background activity on clicking 'Play all" before giving up !!!
I have selected all file type association with WMP 9, but still no
improvement.
How do I check the file path for 'All play' link??
Thanks
