Computer will just suddenly shut off, with no warning
whatever, in the middle of whatever I'm doing. I did all
the updates for the Sasser worm and everything and it
says I don't have the worm. What is going on and how do
I fix it? Oh and it only does it when my laptop is
plugged up to the batter charger...

Hi Rachel,
does it give you an error ?
If not, go to Control Panel/System/Advanced in the Startup and Recovery
section click Settings and then un-check the Automatically restart checkbox.

On next error the computer will stop with a blue screen that will give you
some more information about what's wrong.

The box was already unchecked! And I have never gotten a
blue screen or an error message...it just shuts off and
it doesn't come back on until I turn it back on. It is
so wierd.

What does you Event Viewer say ?

If you have any sort of meter to measure the charge of
your battery, watch it to see if the puter is shutting
down as you reach 100%. I don't know if XP has such a
meter in the PM console, but you can chesk from control
panel>power options. This may take some patience, but it
might help ID whether it's a soft or hardware problem.
