Keeps sending "Ghost" messages

Hello,

I have a problem with unwanted "ghost" messages which Outlook 2003 tries to
send, and gets an error message from server (POP3). Error code is 0x800CCC0F,
with Server error: 550 Address "" appears to be invalid. I do not see
anything in the outbox.

After installation it worked for few hours without problems. Then it showed
me a message "Sending 1 of 1" (I understand it was automatic email checking),
while I was not sending anything. The number of this "ghost" messages being
sent keeps growing. Now it tries to send 14... Obviously with no success,
with above errors.

I checked the log, here is a portion of it (it is repeated 14 times):

2005.08.09 13:49:51 SMTP (IP_Address): Begin execution

2005.08.09 13:49:52 SMTP (IP_Address): End execution

When I send "normal" messages they go through.

What is the problem?

I run NAV 2003. I tried turn it off, it didn't help. I also installed
Microsoft AntiSpyware. It removed Hotbar, but these "ghost" messages keep
growing... I configured this account on other machine, it works fine. (Ooops,
its 16 now). I also tried to re-create the account. Works for few hours then
starts to send "ghost" messages.

Please help! I appreciate any your suggestions.

See if http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/delete_rr.htm helps - if they
aren't read receipts, look in the outbox folder with outlookspy.

Thank you Diane!
These were Undelivered Read Receipts. I killed them with OutlookSpy.
Now everything works fine.
.... Except, if this problem appears again. OutlookSpy would be needed again
(it costs $50), and it is quite expensive for this only simple task. Moreover
its interface is for Exteneded MAPI guru, not for "simple Outlook user"...

It is possible to have a simple script, which really does this only simple
task -- kills "ghost" read receipts?? What information I need to write such a
script, if it does not exists? I prefer .NET approach (as far as I know
Office 2003 installs some .NET support).

Thank you very much again! Appreciate your answers.
