Keeps reading floppy a: drive

How can I stop XP looking at the floppy drive when I open
files or programs that are not stored there.

Check the settings of your Antivirus software.

I noticed this yesterday after the most recent MS updates 823980 and 821557
whenever I open images in wjview. The drive use to chatter at obscure times
right after installing XP and all the updates, but eventually disipated.
Maybe it will eventually go away. When in doubt, blame Microsoft...hehe.
