Keeping a running average in Excel ?

I have a series of cells in a row that calculates an average from the two
cells above it. Example, cell A1 is number of workdays, cell A2 is total
number of inspections. Cell A3 is the average number of inspections per day.
A3 is the formula A2/A1. Cells A3 through BC3 have that formula. Cell BD3 I
would like to be a running average. But because there are zeros in a lot of
the row 3 cells since the data above them has not been entered yet, BD3
includes those zeros in its average. I want to be able to keep a running
average in BD3 that updates as the cells update. I'm building this for others
so I don't want them to have to try and create the formula.
