kb823980scan utility

I am discovering that whenever I run this utility on any
subnet of our NetWare 5.1 network, the utility scans
machines that are not affected by the Blaster virus (i.e.
Win98 PCs)and tags them as needing the patch. Also, I am
encountering some false positives from the utility
(machines tagged as needing the patch when the patch is
already on the machine). What can I do to get
kb823980scan to give me a clean list of machines that need
the patch?

i am not sure you problem. win98 will answer the the netbios request in the
manner the scanner is looking for. but does not have DCOM on it so is not
going to have the blaster vurlinability.
