KB update causes Delta Force Land Warrior to lose focus.

I experience an issue with Delta Force land warrior after installing the various KB updates for Windows Xp Home
What happens is after loading the game up, for some reason the menu system loses focus and the windows cursor is displayed on top of the menus, instead of being able to use the games crosshair cursor I get a floating windows cursor. Clicking on any of the menu items results in the game minimizing to the taskbar. I then must click on the taskbar to bring the game back up, it then runs fine until leaving a game and returning to the menu again, which causes this to happen all over again. Im not sure exactly which update is to blame but notice this everytime I install them. (I usually avoid them for this reason

This happens when installing a certain update with the KBXXX... name.

It seems the update that causes this issue for me is Critical update: KB824141

I have removed the various updates one by one and re-installed the affected updates checking as I go which are affected and which were removed, KB824141 was the suspect update toward the end of the process. With it removed and the others installed the problem has disappeared

System
WindowsXp Home Edition (all updates, except KB824141
Gigabyte GA-7zxr (Rev 3.0) Fb Bio
512mb Crucial pc 133 sdra
Visiontek Geforce 3 Ti500 (Nvidia reference 53.03 drivers
80Gb Western Digital H

How do you uninstall this without creating a bunch of other problems?

I get the breaking out of my Cursor (and a SYSDUMP.TEXT Program error)
in DF (all the DF games, especially on-line), BUT when U go to
uninstall this Critical Update it gives an error message and a bunch
of my programs that may not run correctly if I uninstall. It is way
too far back to do a system restore, so how to uninstall??

I would approach it as a reinstall Frenchy, here's how.

1. Set a restore point
2. Uninstall the Update
3. Shut off antivirus software
4. Install new download of same Windows Update
5. Test system. If there's new complications, Restore the system.

I've never had problems removing those updates, even when windows says it will affect half my programs and other updates everything goes fine. I guess if things do screw up then you can just re-install windows and your games, its pretty easy, time consuming, but easy. The way I did it was to have a restore point that I knew would be ok, then remove the updates that I suspected caused the problem, that then affected other KB updates so I reinstallled those updates and left out the suspect ones

What I would do is just remove KB824141. (on my machine this also removed KB823980 so I had to go back and get it) Then just go to windows update then and check for updates, go to the critical updates section and download all except KB824141

My friend also has this problem with DFLW so i'm thinking it may affect alot of people, hope it can get fixed or someone sees this...
