KB Search w/in Help and Support: Broken

F

frodo

Starting a few days ago, searches within Help and Support no longer return
any KB hits. It does NOT give the "old bug" message "When you are
connected to the internet...", it DOES send off the search query, it DOES
get a response, but it always gets zero hits. I'm guessing the server is
busted?

Here's the query it composed and sent when searching for "WMV":

searchservice.support.microsoft.com/WHSCWrapper/search.asmx/Search?vroot=&resultModifiers=FR%3D1%26PA%3D1%26SD%3DHSCH&PrevQuery=&QueryString=wmv&LCID=1033&SKU=Professional_32&MaxResults=100&Product=winxp&KeywordType=ANY&Titles=False

when pasted into IE/mozilla a response comes back "no results found", so
the server did respond. Yet it found nothing w/ "WMV" inside? Not
likely. I've tried many queries, they all come back "no result found",
including my normal test query of "netbeui", which normally always returns
half a dozen KB results.

So, what's up? Ramesh? Anybody else noticed this?

Just wonderin'...

merci.

I haven't tried it in Help and Support but for significant periods yesterday
doing a direct KB search from http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1
gave an error that the KB was down. It seems to be up right now.
