Thanks for the reply. I failed to add to original post a question regarding
the noise, how well (over stock) it cools, do you use the thermal probe to
control fan speed or the rheostat?

Thanks again,

Mike

I'm using the rheostat. I keep it at about 3000rpm, completely silent, will
get quite noisy at full speed. I haven't tried the stock cooler. Temps
stay quite low, 40s with 100% load on cpu, low 30s idle. Ambient temp about
18.

regarding

Why use the rheostat and lot let the MB control it? I've got the stock
cooler that came with my 3200, case is reading at 32c and CPU has not gone
above 52c yet, and wondering if I should change this.

I have the K8V with a 3200 also. I found that my CPU wpuld run up into
the 50C range then checked the setting for Q-Fan and found it turned
on. Disabled it in bios and now my cpu runs around 38C or so.

I also have cool "n" Quite but most of the time show the CPU running
at 1800 or so still says 38-39c so not to bad as far as I can see.
