AT http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904631 there is the following procedure:
*****************************************
How to determine whether the update is installed
1. Click Start, and then click Search.
2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search
Companion pane.
3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Outlfltr.dat, and then
click Search.
4. In the list of files, right-click Outlfltr.dat, and then click Properties.
5. On the Version tab, determine the version of the Outlfltr.dat file that
is installed on the computer.
This update contains the files and the file versions that are listed in the
following table. Date Time Version Size File name
-----------------------------------------------------------
26-Jul-2005 17:46 1.3.2915.0 3,358,440 Outlfltr.dat
24-Jun-2005 18:32 1.4.2607.0 307,424 Outlfltr.dll

You do not have to install this update if you have a later version of the
Outlfltr.dat file that is listed in the table.
*******************************************
When I search as above, no files are found.
When I try to reinstall the update, it crashes saying "Already Installed."

So is it installed or not and if not what do I do next?

Thanks

The files should be located in Office 2003 program directory. For an
average Windows 2000/XP system, that tends to be C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11

Thanks neo, the files are right where you said. No idea why "Search" failed
to find them and I don't care.
