Junk Email and Conflicts

Mike Lambert

I have noticed over the last few days that some of the e-mail that is
delivered into my Junk folder also appears in the Sync Issues/Conflicts
folder? Anybody know why or how to stop this? If I open the e-mail in the
Conflict folder in the InfoBar it says "You made changes to another copy of
this item. Click here to replace the existing item with this version." I
haven't made any changes to these e-mails and can't find any information
about the conflicts. Please help! We have an Exchange Server that handles
our mail.

I have a client that is also experiencing Sync Issues with the Junk Email
filter (in cached mode or course). Every, and I mean every email that goes to
the junk email folder gets an entry in the "Sync Issues" folder. What is
going on here?

Interesting that no one from MS will answer this thread, or at least provide
a pointer to where this question has been answered. Are we not asking the
question in the correct manner?

This newsgroup is not an official support channel for Microsoft.

No, but MS MVP's do answer a lot of other questions, just not this one.
Indication of a known problem they arn't going to fix? Hell, whats wrong with
just such an answer?

Well, the MVPs here don't work for Microsoft and so can't fix anything about
Outlook. Moreover, they're not omniscient. If someone has no suggestion,
he or she usually doesn't answer. Finally, all of the MVPs have real jobs
and either missed your question when you posted it or haven't had the time
to answer.

I share your frustration. I've had the same problem here for more than
a year. The only thing I would add is that if I try to 'replace the
existing item', I often get a warning, "The operation failed. An object
could not be found."

Outlook 2003, sp2, Cloudmark Spamnet add-in Exchange 2003 (6.5, sp2) XP
pro, sp2

I suspect others on the forum who note that 'suddenly we had 7000 spam
messages show up' in the conflicts folder probably hadn't done a folder
view in a while.

Others reading this may want to check their conflicts folder (in
Outlook 2003 "Go", "Folder List") and see if there are items lurking
there.

Any insight on the problem would be much appreciated.
