Jumpy Scrolling

Scrolling pages in Internet Explorer 6.0 used to be the
closest to smooth. Recently, this smoothness has gone and
the scrolling by any method (mouse button or wheel) became
jumpy (not smooth). Moves in distinct steps, without any
changes done on my part. Any idea why this happened and
how to go back to smooth scrolling?

hi,

I am not expert but it is possible that you have got
spyware and or virus on your computer. First of all make
sure you have the latest updates of virus scanning
program. I use Norton antivirus, if you do not have any
anti virus or even if you have it I would recommend
visiting this web page and doing a full scan for your
computer: this is the online virus scan of symantec and
is free:

If there is no virus found probably you have got spyware,
I use ad-aware 6 to find and clean up spywares but some
people have reported serious problems after running ad-
aware or other spyware removers and be cautious using
them and do a good research on them before using them.
Go to www.download.com and search for the ad-aware and or
spybot and completely read the "NEGATIVE USERs COMMENTS"
on them before downloading, installing and using them.

I have not had any problem using ad-aware 6, but again I
do not recommend it.

good luck

It's happening to me too. 2 machines: Home, brand-new HP a420e, XP with
latest updates and security. Dialup.
Work, Compaq something-or-other, T1, 2000 Professional.

Only two similarities: Trackball Explorer and Natural Keyboard Elite.

I DL'd the latest driver for the mouse, version 5.0. Same deal. At least I
was able to disable vertical scrolling, but that's not a solution...
