Jumpy Graphics

I seem to be having a problem in Word 2003 that I did not have in previous versions

When I insert graphics and use the "tight" layout approach, my graphics often snap to the top or the bottom of the page. I don't have any "Snap to" or Grid settings, so I'm unaware why this is happening. I can arrange the graphics in the middle of the page, but once I get near the top or the bottom of the page, I lose any control in arranging them

Help! We have a customer proposal due in a couple of days and this is really screwing us up

Todd R.

Word 2003 defaults to inserting graphics in-line with text. You mention a
"tight" layout so I am assuming this isn't your problem. To me that term
indicates that you're floating the graphic with a tight wrapping layout. Is
this layout sticking?

I am not sure what was happening to ToddR... But I have that problem too. When I wish to place a graphic close to the top margin, it jums to the very top of the page... It seems to "snap" into position. I use also the Tight Wrapping. I don't believe this wrapping layout style is sticking. Or perhaps you could define 'sticking'. Thanks.

If it sticks when you go back to the layout dialog your choice is still the
one active.

Yes, when I go back into the layout dialog box, my option of 'tight' is still there. I wish there was a way I could send an attachment to show you exactly what is happening. This 'jumpy graphics' sure gets you 'jumpying'!! Thanks
