jumping and jittering

my start menu, icons, taskbar, cursor etc randomly start jittering, the
words that I type into address bar do the same and if I try to type into
google search, the type appears in the address bar, what is causing this?

I ran across this recently in a customers PC. Turns to be a
Trojan/Spyware/Malware of some kind. Seems that I used a combination of
Spybot and my Avast Virus Scan to fix the problem.
