jpg from media player file.

I transfered some family movies from super8 video to my
hard drive via "dazzle" software.
They open with windows media player.
I would like to pause the movie and capture the still
frame as a jpg (or any photo file) that I could then
print.
Any way to do this?
Thanks anyone in the know.

I can help if you have Windows Movie Maker (WMM).

I, too, use the Dazzle device to capture the video.
However, I used Movie Maker 2 software to capture it.

if you played the vireo in Media Player, Windows Movie
Maker will in all likelyhood - read the media file.

When you have loaded WMM, you can play the clip in the
Media Player that is part of WMM.

On the bottom right of the Media Player "component", you
will see 2 icons just below the the time counter. Of the
2 icons, the right-hand icon is a picture of a camera.

Then, play your video and cue it to get the image you
wish to "photograph". Then click the "camera" icon.

You'll be prompted to give the name and folder location
of the JPG you have just "photograph".

Name it - save it - and you're done.

I'm using WMP9 and I can just press CTRL-I to take a snapshot of a video
frame. A "Save File" window pops up that lets me save the captured frame as
either JPG or BMP.
