hello to everybody out there!
i'm having a bit of a cafuddle...
i'm having problems sending jpegs which i create in Adobe Photoshop, in
email attatchments or over msn messenger. in messenger the person on the
receiving end can't see the file to accept it and the images just don't open
in emails!!

does anybody know the cause of and solution to this problem??

If you or your recipients are using Outlook or Outlook Express, image
attachments cannot be viewed in the message itself. You must select the HTML
mode and embed the image(s) in the message.

For the problem with MSN Messenger, post your question to the MSN Messenger
newsgroup.

You aren't by chance saving the JPEG file as "progressive" are you? I
know that some applications barf when they see such a beast because I've
had complaints that known-good files were unusable because I thought
that I was doing them a favor by using that setting.

For grins, try e-mailing one of the "bad" files to yourself under a
different filename. What applications can or can't open the file that
you receive?

No when i'm saving it "baseline optimised"

"baseline standard" and "progresive" are there but the one selected is
"baseline optimised"

i have Adobe Photoshop and it opens jpegs just fine but ones it has created
seem to be the problem... i can open the psd files and send them no problem
i'm just confused as to why this is happening all of a sudden.
I've done the usual uninstall-reinstall thing but still no joy...

i use hotmail and yahoo to send emails with the attatched "bad" jpegs so i
dont know if it could be that

Thanks

So how does you using Hotmail and Yahoo have any affect on what e-mail
clients that your recipients use?

What happens when you use a *real* e-mail program, like Outlook [Express],
Thunderbird, or whatever, instead of some webmail-for-dummies interface, to
send your image ladened e-mails?

Some webmail providers will restrict the type of attachments you are allowed
to included in your e-mail, and some won't permit any attachments at all.
Have you tried attaching a .txt file to your e-mail to see if it shows up
okay for the recipient?

If you're sending PSD files to your recipients, they must have Adobe Photoshop
installed also.

If you want to send JPEG images, convert the PSD to the JPG format.
