"Jet database engine could not find the object" when trying to open a *.mdb file.

Hi there,

I get an error with the following message when trying to open a certain
access database file. Error happens when I try to open the file by double
clicking on it, or by first opening Access then trying to open the file, or
trying to repair the file....

"The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object
'C:\MyDatabaseFile.mdb'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its
name and the path name correctly."

I searched the MS KB and this error message only comes up in relation to
importing or exporting database tables or other kinds of activities. No
results come up when simply trying to open a file.

I've had experience with repairing Access mdb's before (happens all too
often) but this one has me stumped. I can't even begin to try to open this
file..... Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Wayne.

You could try importing into a new MDB or opening in a later version
of Access.
