Java versions

When I look in Add/Remove Programs, I see 4 entries for J2SE Runtime 5.0.
There is an entry for versions 6, 9, 10 and 11. I know that 11 is the
latest. Can I safely remove the other 3? Thank you for your help.
 
Actually, there is a Sun Java Runtime 6.0 that would replaces all the
5.0 series. Sun has some really strange naming conventions for their
software. The Runtime 6.0 actually displays itself as version 1.6.0. It
would help if they followed standard Major/Minor version tracking
instead of using these Update #......

Better yet, uninstall all 4 versions of 5.0 and install 6.0.

Scroll down to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 and hit the
Download button.

Yes, you should be able to uninstall all earlier updates. IF a problem comes up just reinstall the latest and all should be well. Btw, the currently latest is 1.6.0

install the latest. Thanks again. That was extremely helpful.
