vulnerabilities in earlier versions?

Has anyone seen this version offered automatically by Sun's update

Bill,

It looks more like a bugfix release than security update.

Java's update check synchronizes with http://www.java.com/ which is
always a few days (weeks) later than http://java.sun.com/

Thanks. I know the automatic update process seems to lag substantially from
the release. What I'm not sure about is whether that is ALWAYS the case, or
whether it is different when there's a significant security issue involved.

Java is much improved, in terms of security--these days my ire tends to be
reserved for Adobe.,,
