Java problem

Hi, I'm having a problem running Java Script applications on my computer
such as quizzes that I have to take for my class off of WebCT, AIM Express,
or any other Java controlled program. I've reinstalled MS Virtual Machine,
with no change in status. If anyone has any idea how to reengage my ability
to run Java, I would appreciate any help as soon as possible. I have a
Pentium 3 750MHz, 348MB RAM, Windows XP SP1, and am up to date with my
Windows OS updates.

OK, first, Java and JavaScript are different.
Are you having issues with JavaScript being allowed
within IE when at the websites ? Or, are you having
problems with Java support ? If the first, check your
IE security options while if the latter you could always
try installing Sun's JVM for Java support

I've downloaded Java from the Sun site, and it still won't work. And I'm
not totally sure exactly what I'm having a problem with (Java or
Javascript). I have my internet security settings at medium. I do have a
few anti-spyware programs running, but I had them running before I had to
reformat my PC from the DCOM virus and I could still run Javascript stuff.
I'm running Ad-aware, Spybot - Search and Destrpy, and Spyblaster. I think
it's a Javascript problem because the WebCT program said that if you are
having trouble, check your Javascript. I know how to activate it in Windows
98, 95, etc, but I don't know how to check or how to activate it in XP.

Support for use of scripting within the IE browser is
controlled by the security options in IE
