I'm trying to use a program which gave me a
message 'browser not enabled for java.'

I'm running XP home edition with internet explorer 6.0

How do I enable for Java programs?

WinXP does not come with Java. See

Understand that because of a court decision Microsoft is stopping all Java
support, including security updates, in January.
