I'm running IE6 & XP and when I try to access chat rooms
it says I need a Java enabled browser.

I've checked my security settings and can't see anything
about enabling Java.

Can somebody offer advice?

WinXP does not come with Java and Microsoft no longer distributes it because
of the court case with Sun.

Java VM: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_9.htm#java2
Understand that because of a court decision Microsoft is stopping all Java
support, including security updates, in January.
Sun version
