January 08 is abbrecviated to 8-Jan. Help!

I am typing in January 08 in Excel in A1. When I get ready to go to the next
one it is changed to 8-Jan. I do not want 8-Jan. How do I change this?

Format>Cells>Numbers Tab>Select "DATE" and choose what you like from the
options.

Type 1/1/08. If you enter a date with only two parameters, Excel assumes
you've entered month and day, and uses the current year, hence January 08
becomes January 8, 2008.
