Jagged Text in Slide-Show

I've recently bought a new HP computer and upgraded to ppt 2003. My text
looks completely normal when I'm in edit mode, but in slide-show it appears
broken up and jagged. How do I fix this? I'm using standard Times New Roman
at between 28 and 32 pt. It doesn't seem to be a problem in Titles - only in
text boxes.

Yes. Mostly Peek from one direction or another, sometimes zooms. Your
question prompted me to try turning animation off. I did and it looks fine;
but it's very important to me to use the animation. ONce the text is
stationary, it still looks broken. I've never had this problem before and
I've used ppt for 5 years on various machines. I've also tried messing with
the graphics acceleration. Doesn't seem to make much difference.

MJ,

Try turning setting the windows XP, display property > appearance > effects
"use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" from
"cleartype" to "standard"

Ok. I tried that. It didn't help. More info: My presentations were created
in an earlier version of ppt and upgraded to 2003. But I just also tried
deleting some text and re-entering it. Same problem. Only other glitch: I
had to convert my mpgs to avi in order to get them to play inside ppt without
crashing ppt. And, they play better with my accelerator turned down three
notches. I'm running the new 745M processor at 1.8 ghtz in case that helps
anyone figure this out. Thanks. MJ
