I've run out of columns - how to create more?

I'm creating a template for a report where I need to fit in 12 weeks with
each 7 days with each 3 columns and this has proven to be just one week too
much for the columns available. I have reached column "IV" but still need
another 18 columns to complete the sheet. How can I create them? Whenever I
try to insert colums I am told that Microsoft Excel cannot shift cells with
non-blank data off the worksheet....

I hope someone can help, thanks a million to all in advance....

Hi

You can't. Read about 'Microsoft Excel Specification' in 'Getting Started'
section of MS Help.

Hi Helga,

the max number of columns (and rows) in Excel is hardcoded - no way to add
anything beyond those limits. These limits are 256 for columns and 65536 for
rows.

To solve your problem, either transpose your table (turn rows into columns
and columns into rows) - and hope that you do not run out of columns for the
number of data columns you need, or split your worksheet, e.g. one per week
and create a "navigating" sheet to start with.

Thanks guys, will try to transpose - of just add the last week onto another
worksheet or something. I just was not sure if it was me - or a limitation in
Excel.

Cheers,

Helga
