itunes and audio configuration

I downloaded itunes over a year ago and have not had a problem until
recently. Now when I try to open itunes, I get a message that says, "itunes
cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration."

Any ideas as to what to do?

All help is greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem. I uninstalled itunes and quick time and
reinstalled as instructed by itunes and still the same message.

Try reloading your audio drivers and check for conflicting other audio
programs.
