iTunes alternative
I have just purchased a mini iPod but im not too keen on the iTunes
software package that came with it .. is their a freeware alternative
that will send my music to my iPod ?

I've set someone up with sharepod, seems to be working will:
http://sturm.t35.com/sharepod/
No install, executable runs from the ipod and (as a bonus) allows sharing
between machines.

Also mlipod, a plugin for winamp, not used this one tho':

There are also W98 drivers available if you have any old machines:

A friend of mine love YAMIpod http://www.yamipod.com/
No install, small in size, it runs even from the ipod... etc...etc..
