It just keeps getting better.

I recently went to XP and now that all is working in great shape, I backed
up my C and D drive on the E drive. (3 SCSI drives).

I started some years ago backing up on tape. In recent times, this would
take 4 hours on two tapes.
Then my computer grew to having 9 gigs of data, burning to DVDs. This took
about an hour on two DVDs.
Now I have 15 gigs of data and backup on a hard drive and it takes 45
minutes AND in one file! I like NTFS formatted drives!

Won't be long and a computer will cost less than a retail XP Pro. Oh wait, a
computer *already* costs less than a retail XP Pro.

What's the guesstimated price of Longhorn? Not that I'll ever
pay that much for it.

Probably as much as XP Professional. 199 for the upgrade and 299 for the
full version.

I hear Longhorn is for 64 bit processors. Unless folks want bragging rights
it may not be a big seller.

I hope it will be for both 32 and 64bit systems....

If its going to be just for the 64bit systems there are going to be
some companies makin some HUGE money selling 64 capable systems to
different companies where they are implementing (or starting to at
least) longhorn.

But hey isnt 64bit the choice for the near future?

***Change is good***

(maybe if I repeat that to myself over and over it will sink in one of
these days)

No, truthfully I am excited about switching between 32 and 64.
