Issues installing outlook 07 then Office 07

We are currtly running XP with Office 2003. We are in the process of
upgrading outlook and Office to 2007. We were informed that we need to
install outlook now then install office 2007 in August. Can anyone inform us
of any problem we may run into? such as wrong file install, need to retest
office applications etc. Thanks in advance

Who informed you of that?
Insert Office 2007 cd/dvd and select upgrade option (having first backed up
all data)

PS You done mention which specific versions of Office, of which there are
many.

I should have made myself clearer sorry. I heard that it is not recommended
running outlook 07 with Office XP due to common components upgraded with
Outlook 2007. The problem is we will be upgrading to office 2007 the end of
summer and dont want to test everything all over again. Our main concern now
is outlook 07 with Office XP. Any idea what could and or would happen if we
try this install? Thanks again

Outlook 2007, will use its own stub of Word 2007 as the editor, you will not
have full Office component intergration.
If you are using pst files you will need to create a new outlook data file
in the new unicode format, in order to take advantage of the new size limit
(20gb) and as such you might need to do some manual data intergration.
IMO you might be better waiting untill you are ready to deploy Office 2007
in its entirety

Yes I agree with you however we have a director that promised we would have
it out by the end of the month to over 300 pople. We are not scheduled to
impliment our portfolio until the end of August. One other quick question. Is
it true other (word) functions will not work correctly? I.E. attachment,
background spelling, grammar checking, data binding etc. I got this from
tecknet. Thank you for all your help it is most appreciate.

It's true you can have trouble with some of these. I don't know about all of
them.
