There is a great issues db for access 2003 in templates - just what I'm
looking for. Unfortunately, we only use Access 2002 so I can't download it.
Does anyone have a Access 2002 version they would be happy to share please.

It would save me a lot of time in creating my own!

Thanks,

Have you tried? There's no file format difference between 2002 and 2003
(although 2003 does have features that don't exist in 2002). And actually
both default to the Access 2000 file format.

Douglas:
FYI: The file format of the template is sort of a moot point.
Microsoft's web page won't even allow you to download files that have been
designated "2003 version" unless Office 2003 is detected on the machine
requesting the download (which is more than a little spooky...).

That doesn't mean that the desired file isn't already 100% compatible with
earlier versions. MS just doesn't want you to have it unless you have the
version of Office that's currently on store shelves. :-)

Hi George,

I have Access 2002 on my PC, and I am able to download this sample without a
problem. It is true that one will receive this message without the proper
version being detected:

Access 2003 was not found
To download and use this template, you need to have Microsoft Office Access
2003 installed on your computer. This program was not found on your computer.

However, this does not prevent one from completing the download. If you
scroll down the page a bit, you should see the following instructions:

To download the template manually:

Click Download Now below.

In the File Download dialog box, click Save.

Select the folder where you want to save the compressed file (.CAB), and
then click Save.

Open the folder where you saved the compressed file, and then double-click
the file.
Use one of the following methods to extract the template from the compressed
file:
If the file opens in WinZip® or another decompression program, use the
program to extract the template from the compressed file. After extracting
the file, you can double-click the template to open it in the program it was
designed for.
If the compressed file opens in a regular window, double-click the template
file, select the folder where you want to save the template, and then click
Extract. Now locate the folder in which you saved the uncompressed template,
and then double-click the template to open it.

ALL, thanks so much for your replies.

I did try downloading it manually and it worked! I can't find anything that
doesn't work.

Thank you all!

Thanks for the info Tom.

Actually, I have 2003 on a different machine so whenever I've seen that
message (twice?), I just go to the other and download it. I never bothered
to look further down the page. :-)
