Issue with New Message Desktop Alerts

Hi,
I'm running Outlook 2003.
I have two email accounts - one on HTTP, one on IMAP. I have set the HTTP
one to be the default inbox. I have also ticked the correct boxes for desktop
alerts to pop up, but this never occurs when i get a new email. This includes
both a pop up, and the small envelope in the notifications area on the
taskbar.

Please advise as to what I can do.

I believe HTTP accounts cannot display the alerts.
