Issue w/ Compacting Access Database - Deletes Files

I have an Access database that I compact regularly because of the size.
However, the last two times I have compacted it, it deleted both my macros
and my reports I had created (tables and queries were fine). Any ideas what
would cause this and how I can avoid it? Thanks.

Almost certainly, system table corruption. I hope you have a working
backup... :-{(

Try creating a new, empty database and using File... Get External
Data... Import to import everything from your current working backup
database. Test the new one to be sure it works correctly, trash the
old one and rename the new if it does.

Check out the suggestions at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm to prevent and
(hopefully) cure future corruption. Splitting the database into a
frontend and backend sounds like a VERY good idea if you have not
already done so!
