The first time I ever herd of ISO files was when I first started using
CD Burning software - Nero in my case - but since then I see them
mentioned everywhere .

Could someone explain briefly what exactly are ISO files , which
properties do they have which make them different from other files and
necessitates their uses .

An iso file is an exact representation of a CD or DVD in a single file,
including the comment and logical format.
