What do I need to do to be able to install a program that
was downloaded as a iso file. Copied to cd with windows
and Nero ROM but when I reboot system windows tries to
take over and nothing happens. Do I need to add a boot
section or DOS to this cd to get it to install. I dont
want to start a banter between kurttrail and JAX like the
other night just need advice as how to make an
installation cd out of this iso file that will start at
reboot. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Since you have Nero, you should consult the help files for burning images to
CD. Is the application supposed to be bootable?

IF the software is an exact copy only then will a disc be bootable. Go to
Recorder-Burn Image in Nero (Main) and choose your .iso file from the
explorer and proceed.

I Guess so, 6 cd set OS (didn't want to use the L word
here but wanted to try dual boot that I seen in "Feb PC
Today" but from what I understand it should boot but
doesn't. Thanks.

The first CD in the Linux set will be bootable if you burn it from the
image. Do you have your bios set to boot from CD before hard drive?
Just a little tip when you install Linux, choose to boot Linux from a floppy
disk rather than installing Grub or Lilo. This will leave your current XP
boot loader intact incase {believe me, you will} you need to reload either
OS.

I was assuming that it is an OS cd, which it is. And hence should be
bootable (At least all modern OSs are)

Only if it's a bootable CD. Most aren't.
