Is XP Pro smart enough to fix a problem by reinstalling over the existing
instillation? By this I mean would it only try to reinstall files that were
either missing or corrupted without touching those that have been updated by
patches since the original instillation?
The reason that I ask is that every time I try to install a new program I
get the fillowing message? I have received suggestion as to what to do but
they haven't worked. 'the Win 16 Subststem was unable to enter protected
mode, DOSX.EXE must be
in your auroexec.nt & present in your path.'
