Is this safe to delete?

I recently reinstalled XP and had to create a partition
for it. I now have umpteen empty folders scattered just
about everywhere. Is it safe to delete these empty
folders, or are they empty for a reason and will
eventually be needed? They're not doing any harm,
computer works great, but I'm dreaming about them at
night.

have you checked to see if there are hidden files in the
folders. you do this by going to my computer select
tools, folder options. click on the view tab and select
the show hidden files button. If there is nothing in the
folders then they are probably safe to delete. The
documents and settings folder and Windows folder shoud
remain as they are part of the windows insatllation. Hope
