Is This Group Being DOSed

Greetings All,

I have been attempting to download the postings in this group and have
found that it is dogged-assed slow. All other groups, on this server,
come on down without a problem. It has taken me over 1-1/2 hours to get
about 120 postings. Does anyone have a clue on what's happening?

It's fine here. Are you getting the newsgroups from Microsoft's servers
(msnews.microsoft.com) or from your ISP? If the latter, try getting the
groups directly.

There was a problem 18 hours ago when a nasty minded individual sent a
series of posts in three parts with only the third part getting through.
Each of some 664 posts were 62 kb and it slowed my system whilst they
downloaded.

some interesting comments on the event.

Not all who claim to be MVPs are MVPs and there are also posers running
around here.

Sounds like you encountered a problem with a node when you were trying
to download; not much you can do about it at your end. AFAIK there was
no DOS or DDOS happened.
