is this a glitch or just me?

When I add a left habnd shared border it seems to create an
indentation outside the border so that there is an annoying space
between the border and any layout cell that i want to create on that
page. Nothing seems to get rid of this space, is it normal?!

it's expected behavior.
to not have it this way use the included page content feature under :
insert/ web component/ include content
