If you use ILDASM to examine the contents of the DLL, you will see the
version of the Framework libraries that it is referencing. This should give
you a good idea of the version of Visual Studio that was used. However, the
DLL could have been built without Visual Studio (for instance, by means of
the CSC compiler), or it could have been built with Visual Studio 2008 which
is able to target different versions of the Framework.
